Riley F. Nakatsu, O.D.

Dr. Nakatsu has been practicing optometry since 1983, and is one of the founders of Broadway Vision Source. He earned a Bachelor of Science – with honors – from the University of Washington in 1979, and then continued on to Pacific University College of Optometry, where he received his Doctor of Optometry in 1983.  In addition to his career at Broadway Vision Source, Dr. Nakatsu served as a contract optometrist for the United States Coast Guard from 1986-1999, providing eye care to active duty and retired military personnel, as well as their dependents.

His practice philosophy is to take the time to get to know each patient and understand their visual needs and concerns. A thorough examination then leads to a discussion of the best options for eyewear or eye health care, so that the patient can make an informed decision of what’s best for their situation.

Dr. Nakatsu is a Diplomat of the American Board of Optometry, and is an active member of the American Optometric Association, Optometric Physicians of Washington, and the Beta Sigma Kappa honor fraternity. He is an avid golfer, enjoys yard work, and is a sports enthusiast.
